Baylor Press Release:
Baylor Law School students posted yet another "first" on the latest Texas Bar Exam - chalking up a 97.87 percent success rate, the highest pass rate among students from the nine Texas law schools who took the two-day examination in July this year.
Of the 94 Baylor law students who took the bar exam, 92 passed. The overall state pass rate was 86 percent, with a total of 1,572 successful candidates among the 1,828 law students who took the exam.
Baylor Law School has an unsurpassed record of success on the exam, which is given twice a year and qualifies a candidate to practice law. Dean Brad Toben said the achievement reflects the effectiveness of the Law School's program and demonstrates the pride shown by the students, faculty and staff in making such a distinctive program possible.
The school's continued success was also reflected in the U.S.News & World Report's latest "Best Graduate School" publication, which rates the school's trial advocacy program as the sixth best in the nation.
