Ave Maria School of Law to Host
National Law School Chess Tournament

Students, professors, and alumni from law schools across the U.S. and Canada will converge on Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Mich., to compete in the first annual National Law School Chess Championship on Saturday, November 6, 2004.

The event will feature regular tournament play, plus a seminar on chess strategy presented by American Chess Master Howard Bromberg, who also serves as Associate Professor of Law and Faculty Director of Research, Writing, and Advocacy at Ave Maria. Ben Finegold, International Master and second-ranked speed player in the world, will offer a simultaneous game for all tournament participants who are interested.

In addition to a fun and challenging day, prominent lawyers and jurists will be in attendance giving participants an opportunity to network with members of the professional legal community.

The event is sponsored by Ave Maria School of Law's Strategic Games-Theory Society.

Those interested in participating should contact 3L Chris Esseltine at cresseltine@avemarialaw.edu
