Cornell Names New Law School dean

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell University named professor Stewart J. Schwab as its new Law School dean Friday.

Schwab succeeds Lee E. Teitelbaum, who left the post in June after four years. Schwab joined the faculty at Cornell in 1983.

Schwab, who has an M.A. in labor economics and industrial organization, a J.D. and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan, is the coeditor of the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies.

He co-wrote a book on employment law and contributed to other books on the subject. He also has written about employment discrimination, workplace accommodations for the disabled, sexual harassment in the workplace, constitutional tort litigation and labor law reform.
