Wednesday, the results of those tests were released, and according to the New York State Board of Law Examiners, the percentage of those passing the exam was the second-highest ever recorded.
The testing was held in the four appellate division departments of New York State on July 28 and 29 with over 11,500 test-takers participating, more than 3,200 in Buffalo alone.
Overall, 72 percent of those who took the exam passed. American Bar Association graduates taking the test for the first time had the highest passing rate, 88.2 percent, while foreign educated test-takers saw the lowest percentage of success, 38.5 percent.
