Law Student / Beauty Queen Sues Over Porn
March 23, 2005
CHARLESTON, W.Va., Associated Press -- Former Miss West Virginia Allison Williams is suing dozens of Internet businesses that tried to sell pornographic videos they claimed showed her in sexual acts with a Virginia news crew.
Williams filed her lawsuit in US District Court in Wheeling last week against 59 defendants in the United States and several other countries.
The businesses allegedly took part in distributing the videos of the 23-year-old Williams, who's a West Virginia University law student and was Miss West Virginia in 2003.
Williams is seeking unspecified damages and asking a judge to order the videos taken off the market.
The videos began to surface last fall and show a woman having sex in a television news truck.
Many Web sites said the video was shot while Williams was working as a television reporter in Hampton Roads. But Williams says she has never worked as a television reporter and has never lived in Virginia.
Some of the images were allegedly altered to make the woman in the videos look more like Williams.
